以色列政府將於13日上午(以色列時間)在國會為前總理夏隆舉行紀念儀式，多國政要都將出席，美國副總統拜登和前英國首相布萊爾（Tony Blair）也將在儀式中致詞。

夏隆的棺木今天下午在國會廣場供民眾瞻仰致敬，現場也聚集了大批國際媒體，包括日本和中國大陸的電視台。到場的民眾各種年齡層都有，包括跟著他打過仗的老人，帶著孩童的年輕人，留著長長鬢角的猶太教徒，和在以色列旅遊學習的外國人。

預計出席國家紀念儀式的國際政要包括美國副總統拜登（Joe Biden），中東和平四方集團（Quartet）特使及前英國首相布萊爾，捷克總理魯斯諾克（Jiri Rusnok），俄羅斯聯邦會議下議院（State Duma）主席納雷什金（Sergey Naryshkin），以及德國、西班牙及加拿大等多位部長。

國家紀念儀式結束後，夏隆的棺木將在拉特倫（Latrun）簡短停留，隨後回到靠近加薩走廊的自家農場，舉行軍方的安葬儀式。夏隆將葬在他的第二任妻子莉莉旁邊。

以色列也預期加薩走廊的反以色列分子可能會在葬禮時向農場方向發射火箭砲，已動員軍警嚴陣以待。
