【綜合報導】一項最新的調查發現，美國80%的大學生從事兼職或全職工作，每周平均工作近20個小時賺錢，以應付日漸昂貴的大學學費。
 
由美國花旗集團和雜誌聯合進行的調查結果指出，包括社區大學、空中大學或是一般大學裡就讀的美國學生中，有近4/5的比例的大學生在學期間便已工作，不論兼職或全職，學生們每周平均工作的時間為19小時。
 
進行調查的機構負責人表示，很多美國大學生都經歷過2008年的經濟大蕭條，希望在大學畢業前就開始有自己的事業。父母支付學費的比例也下降，2010年父母為子女支付大學費用的比例為47%，2011年則降至37%。

【陸運鋒／新北報導】新北市汐止凌晨0時許，新北市消防局獲報，國道中山高一輛機車逆向上國道發生車禍，警消立即前往救援，現場發現騎乘機車的老翁坐在路旁，並將老翁包紮。

路過的陳姓男子(40歲)表示，該路段非常的昏暗，經過時發現一輛機車逆向上來摔倒，他見狀後立即煞車，將賓士車停靠在機車後方，下車以後發現是一名老翁，趕緊將老翁攙扶到路邊，防止後方車輛撞上，警方一度以為兩台車發生車禍，經陳男解釋後，才知道原來是陳男熱心的行為，救了老翁一命。

【綜合報導】巴西聖保羅一名男童，志願是要當一名專業、全職的殺手，日前竟然親手殺死父母、外婆和姨婆4人，然後自殺身亡。

13歲的帕什吉尼(Marcelo Pesseghini)常和朋友提起，自己長大後要當一名全職殺手，還曾向好友透露自己的「殺人大計」，要從找一天晚上先殺死任職警務人員的父母與同住的外婆和姨婆，再開車逃走。

當地時間周一(5日)上午，帕什吉尼決定實行他的冷血計畫，趁親人熟睡時開槍將他們一一殺死。但他事後沒有逃走，反而回學校度過了一整天，然後才用爸爸的警槍吞槍自殺。警方事後還從他的書包中搜出另一把手槍。

【王家俊／台北報導】考選部長董保城下午受訪說，針對明年起外交領事人員特考擬以加入英檢為應考資格，將以六大英語檢驗中「中高級」認證為標準，未來在用人機關需求下，不排除全面試辦，包括國貿人員等都要加附英檢成績才能報考，「絕對是國考的一大突破！」

程序上，本周考試院會已排入議程，若通過修改考試規則，不須修法最快明年起施行。考選部與外交部、教育部、英檢單位及學者專家等議定，包括全民英檢（GEPT）、多益（TOEIC）、托福（TOEFL）、劍橋大學英語能力認證分級測驗（CambridgeMain Suite）、劍橋大學國際商務英語能力測驗（BULATS ALTE）、雅思國際英語測驗（IELTS）等6項含聽、說、讀、寫成績的英語檢定測驗，建議納入應考資格採認。

董保城說，外交領事人員特考每年約有近千人報考，光是英語口試就9百多人，每人約10分鐘，花掉不少時間，鑑別度不一定高，如果能先以英檢當門檻，筆試通過後，若需用名額70人為例，參與英語口試者只需80到90人，口試過程更細膩，可以篩檢出更好的人才。
