在綠能環保浪潮席捲全球的情況下，電動車可說是最受車壇各品牌關注的未來新能源車型之一，許多品牌也早已開始針對電動車市場進行佈局，而中國汽車產業雖然才剛發展起來，卻也注意到了這個趨勢，比亞迪就是其中之一；而在2012年三月，比亞迪更與DAIMLER集團合資建立了全新的「騰勢DENZA」電動車品牌，並於當年度的北京車展發表第一款概念電動車，而這款未來將會導入量產的車型，也早已進入了密集測試的階段。
