斥資逾54億元的「海洋文化及流行音樂中心」今在高雄進行動土儀式，預計明年八月完成六座可容納200至1000人的室內表演廳，另整體工程還包括可容納6800人大型室內表演聽與1萬2000人的戶外表演場，預計2017年5月完工。
 
今天行政院長江宜樺與文化部長龍應台、政務委員楊秋興都南下參與動工儀式，江在致辭時特別誇讚陳菊，讓高雄文化產業札根深，至於很早就到場的楊秋興，與陳菊之間互動冷，僅約數秒握手，並未交談。

高雄市府指海洋文化及流行音樂中心佔地11.4公頃，除表演場，可讓樂團表演外，也興建大型室內表演廳等，供歌手開大型演唱會，另還規劃可室內觀展、室外看船的海洋文化展示中心等。為因應未來爆增的交通需求，已在興建的高雄水岸輕軌預計在今年底完工。江宜樺則指希望此重大建設，能帶動高雄發展，創造就業機會。(吳慧芬／高雄報導)
