與海報等印刷品相比，數位廣告具有便於根據時間和地區顯示不同內容、無需更換、容易掌握用戶屬性等優點，因而備受關注，但是並沒有廣泛普及。在這樣的情況下，地鐵等車站和列車內的數位廣告在最近幾年發展迅速。

比如JR東日本企劃公司經營的車站內的「J·AD VISION」和車內的「列車頻道」業務。這兩項業務的廣告銷售額均逐年增加，2010年度J·AD VISION的銷售額超過了7億日元，列車頻道的銷售額將近50億日元。

鐵路領域的數位廣告業務之所以不斷增長，是因為與商業設施和室外相比，車站及車內的廣告有望實現更好的宣傳效果。利用乘客要在車站內移動、通過檢票口、在站台等車然後上車。這一連串的行動中，乘客多次看到廣告的機會較多，有助於提高廣告宣傳效果。而且，如果是首都圈內的主要車站，客流量非常多。

例如，J·AD VISION就在車站內的通道等有大量乘客經過的場所，沿著乘客移動的路線設置了多台大型螢幕。如果只設置一台螢幕，移動中的乘客看到畫面的時間只有幾秒鐘，看不全長達15～30秒的廣告。但如果沿著移動路線設置多臺螢幕，就能解決這個問題了。

在品川站自由通道的柱子上設置的44台65吋螢幕成了J·AD VISION普及的契機。在啟動該服務的2010年3月，不僅是專業類報紙，各大報刊和電視臺等也進行了報導，「一舉提高了J·AD VISION的社會認知度」（JR東日本企劃公司交通媒體本部媒體開發部部長山本孝）。截至2012年3月，J·AD VISION服務已在34個車站設置了276台螢幕。

【大紀元2013年08月10日訊】維基百科創辦人衛詹美日前表示，中共政府將無法繼續對網民進行持續的資訊封鎖，並批評大陸網站百度百科抄襲維基內容是違反人權的。

據法廣報道，維基媒體國際大會第九屆會議9日在香港召開，維基百科創辦人衛詹美Jimmy Wales在會上告訴來自全球的數百個維基人，維基目前正考慮發展一個有別於「八卦」媒體的網上嚴肅新聞媒體。

衛詹美在接受港媒訪問時又強調，中共政府將無法繼續對網民進行資訊封鎖，因「互聯網會戰勝審查」。他還批評大陸網站百度百科抄襲維基內容，試圖壟斷中國網絡市場。

不過他認為，儘管中共當局對一些網站進行封鎖，但他仍對中國互聯網的前景顯得樂觀，他相信「互聯網會戰勝審查」。

衛詹美首次對香港媒體表示，百度百科抄襲維基內容是違反人權的。他認為，現在的中國人是很聰明的，懂得分辨資訊的真假。他說，維基和百度百科是不同的，「我們直接就道出事實的真相」。

來自北京出席會議的一名維基人Filip表示，中共政府封鎖網頁情況嚴重，如無法在維基百科搜尋達賴喇嘛；來自河北的Leo批評，中國「山寨」百科網站為所欲為，在維基發佈資訊，迅速會被山寨版抄足，反映中國人公民意識甚低。
