「兩岸可在文化、教育方面多來往，到最後和平是一家」，佛光山開山宗長星雲大師歡喜接待來自海峽兩岸暨港澳地區的大學校長，他妙語開示，心繫兩岸和平。

參加第九屆海峽兩岸暨港澳地區大學校長會議的120成員，昨由台灣聯合大學系統校長曾志朗、中山大學校長楊弘敦陪同參訪義守大學及佛陀紀念館。

一行人抵達佛館，一睹台灣佛教聖地丰采，並拜會星雲大師，聆聽開示，心情格外欣喜。

「大家對佛陀紀念館嚮往已久」，曾志朗表示，兩岸四地重點大學聯誼活動已辦8年，去年在大陸揚州舉行時，參觀揚州鑒真圖書館，今年會議移師台灣舉辦，一定要來佛光山參觀。

星雲大師說，佛教不只是宗教，也可說是哲學或教育，佛陀紀念館不是為傳教而建，而是為了教育，希望啟發人民智慧，「兩岸要多來往，雙方來來往往、往往來來，到最後和平是一家」。

復旦大學校長楊玉良初次造訪佛館，看見星雲大師不但傳承中華文化，也保存許多當代文物，贊許大師的理念。北京大學前校長周其鳳說，佛館落成前曾參訪過，一心期盼著落成後還要再來，終於如願以償。

民眾擔心寵物染病，昨天帶著自家小狗施打狂犬病疫苗。 記者胡經周／攝影

野外鼬獾感染狂犬病的案例持續增加，引發民眾恐慌。北市府動保處表示，家中寵物應趕緊帶去施打疫苗，到山區勿接觸野生動物，看見死亡的野生動物屍體趕快通報。

市府疾管處長朱玉如說，若不慎被感染狂犬病動物咬傷，記得以清水清洗傷口15分鐘，然後以優碘或70%酒精消毒。在傷口緊急處置後，請儘速前往台大、馬偕及三總就醫；如果距離被咬地點很遠，可先就近就醫，之後再轉院。

動保處長嚴一峯表示，已透過鄰里系統，針對鄰近山區的內湖、南港、文山、士林、北投等5個區，辦理「免費施打狂犬病疫苗巡迴車」。目前已在文山區指南里、老泉里及士林區天母圓環舉辦免費施打活動，共為219隻家犬貓施打。

嚴一峯表示，民眾想盡早為寵物施打狂犬病疫苗，可主動帶去動物醫院施打。市內有232間動物醫院全面提供服務，費用為200元。

另外，針對愛心媽媽餵養的流浪貓狗，嚴一峯說，也會提供免費施打，減少被傳染的可能性。

動保處指出，民眾只要遵循「二不一要」原則，「不棄養家中寵物」、「不接觸野生動物」及「每年主動為家中飼養犬貓施打動物狂犬病疫苗」，便可有效杜絕家中寵物和病原接觸。

外界也關心鄰近山區的市立動物園，發言人趙明杰表示，園內的動物均注射狂犬病疫苗，相關照護人員也有施打，加上動物大多位於欄舍內，較難與野外動物接觸，會再加強巡守跟戒護。

【綜合報導】八月即將在美國開播的美國半島電視台（Al Jazeera America）22日宣布，將由美國廣播公司（ABC）的新聞總監歐布萊恩（Kate O'Brian）出任總裁，另三位副總裁也都從美國新聞界挖角，其中包括有線電視新聞網（CNN）的名製作人竇斯（David Doss）。　
 
出任美國半島電視台新任總裁的歐布萊特之前已在ABC服務超過30年，2007年起退居幕後擔任新聞節目的監製。新任副總裁竇斯曾為CNN製作過「古柏全方位」（Anderson Cooper 360）新聞節目，另兩位副總裁芭莎莉克（Shannon High-Bassalik）與麥姬妮絲（Marcy McGinnis）則曾分別任職於國家廣播公司（NBC）與哥倫比亞廣播公司（CBS），都擁有多年新聞節目製作的經驗。
 
隨著美國半島電視台在美國媒體界的大肆挖角，美國各家媒體也開始上緊發條備戰。
