聯合國大會將第二次聚焦於國際移民問題。移民問題茲事體大。不僅全世界2.32億移民的福利有待解決，還包括我們社會和經濟的健康。因此，各國政府需要在紐約許下承諾，而不僅僅是發言。

第一次聯合國移民高峰會舉行於2006年，在那次高峰會上誕生了全球移民和發展論壇（Global Forum on Migration and Development）。該論壇遭受一些人猛烈的反對，但隨著時間的推移，該論壇成功建立了國與國之間的信任，形成了對移民問題的共同認識，這是極為寶貴的成就。

但是，如果今年的峰會上只有口號而不見行動，那將是一場失敗。
