買新電鍋後是否需要空燒？

最近買了一個大同電鍋
店員要我第一次使用時要空燒.以便將鍋內的油質蒸發掉

但空燒這樣感覺有些危險.不知道有買過新電鍋的大大們
是否在第一次使用時.有使用空燒這個程序？
