台鐵西部幹線228連假首日發生電車線扯斷事故，造成全天誤點，共計超過6萬人受到影響，上萬名對號列車乘客達退費標準。對於非對號列車乘客，台鐵擬放寬退票原則，預計在今日公布。

根據台鐵初步規劃，持有票證紀錄，誤點達45分鐘以上的區間車乘客，有可能獲得退費，詳細退費標準需待台鐵公布方能確認。

台鐵西部幹線2月28日上午8時37分，發生太魯閣號後部機車集電弓扯斷電車線事故，導致中壢－楊梅間東、西正線電車線無電流，造成全天大誤點，直到3月1日上午8時左右始能全部修復完成。共計約130列次，6萬1千名旅客受到影響。
