〔自由時報記者蘇福男／燕巢報導〕因煙毒案在高雄戒治所服刑的劉姓男子，以3個多月時間，在戒治所教室牆壁創作一幅名為「佛渡」的立體浮雕藝術作品，讓平日戒備森嚴的牢房，增添不少祥和氣氛。

這幅立體佛像浮雕創作高、寬各約3米，材料完全來自戒治所回收的廢報紙、竹蓆、棉被棉絮，加上塗料、海菜粉等製作而成，佛像只有半邊臉，寓意慈悲為懷的佛祖，在監所看著苦海無邊。

50歲的劉男家住鳳山，因煙毒案被判刑1年半，今年7月將出獄，他表示，自己曾留日鑽研雕塑藝術，後來轉赴中國發展，岳父是中國知名雕塑家，老婆則是對岸中央美術學院教授，他跟隨岳父習藝，在雕塑藝術領域頗有知名度。

劉男說，在戒治所服刑期間難免心浮氣躁，因此他以創作雕塑藝術平靜情緒，並回報所方的關照，除巨幅佛渡立體浮雕，他還創作千手觀音、濟公和達摩等10多件雕塑作品，讓戒治所充滿藝術氣息。
