嘉義市第一座高架橋「垂楊大橋」今天中午舉行通車典禮，市長黃敏惠表示，高架橋歷經3年興建，是跨越市區的一道彩虹。

垂楊大橋通車典禮，今天中午由黃敏惠、監察院長張博雅、內政部長陳威仁、嘉義市長參選人陳以真等人與地方耆老一起手牽手，步行通過全長815公尺的高架橋。

黃敏惠表示，「垂楊大橋」啟用後，意謂著嘉義市「公道一」全線通車，從市區可直通高鐵大道，平時可節省5分鐘車程，尖峰時段可節省15分車程。

她說，市府於民國98年向內政部爭取新台幣16.2億元經費進行「公道一」計畫工程，101年平面段通車，今天高架段通車，終於貫通嘉義市東、西區的交通大動脈。

陳威仁指出，「公道一」全長2.16公里，是黃敏惠與當時擔任立委的國策顧問江義雄向總統馬英九建議，由馬總統指示興建，將可帶動地方觀光與經濟發展。

他說，內政部目前已核定嘉義市汙水下水道改善工程經費新台幣120億元，可望在1年內開始進行，對嘉義市環境衛生、市容改善將有莫大助益。

今天的通車典禮，在神轎的前引下，陸續有樂儀隊、棒球隊、單車隊、機車隊、迷你汽車隊上橋，還有學童牽羊踩街，象徵「喜氣洋洋」。

市府表示，垂楊大橋將自今天下午5時起開放通車，高架橋側面設計有夜間虹光定時裝置，讓民眾在夜間也能看到「跨越市區新都心的一道彩虹」。(中央社)
