比較差的美國隊，還是美國隊。

2014年世界盃男籃賽金牌戰，美國隊靠著全場15記三分球的瘋狂外線火力，以129：92輕取「黑馬」塞爾維亞，順利奪冠。

美國隊首節就轟下35分，次節再飆32分，後衛Kyrie Irving三分球彈無虛發，全場6投6中轟26分，助隊一路痛宰對手。

美國隊團隊三分球30投15中，除了Irving，James Harden也飆進3球，攻下23分，這支不被看好的美國隊最終還是以懸殊戰力輕鬆封王。

美國隊拿下隊史在世界盃與前身世錦賽的第5座冠軍，同時完成二連霸，下一屆將等到2019年才舉辦，比賽地點尚未決定。

賽後，大會公布「MVP」獎項，得主正是金牌戰火力全開的Irving，他9場比賽平均攻下12.1分、2.6籃板、3.6助攻，獲獎實至名歸。
