全球最大室內巨蛋型體育館「菲律賓競技場」，21日啟用，可容納5萬5000人。

號稱全球最大室內巨蛋型體育館的「菲律賓競技場」，昨天在馬尼拉以北的新造城鎮正式啟用，可容納5萬5000人。

菲律賓競技場座落布拉坎省維多利亞城75公頃生態觀光園區內，斥資2億1300萬美元興建，由倫敦O2體育館的設計團隊設計，具防震、防颱功能，2011年8月17日動工，今年5月30日完工。

巨蛋主體面積3萬6000平方公尺，高度62公尺，相當15層樓，共分為4層，第1層是停車場、第2層是入口及前排座位區、第3層為貴賓包廂、第4層為一般觀眾席。

競技場附近，還建有可容納2萬人的「菲律賓體育場」，是田徑等戶外運動的場地；作為籃球、羽毛球等室內運動地點的「菲律賓體育中心」仍在施工中。
