中華男籃隊在2013年亞錦賽獲得1999年以來最佳的第4名佳績，身為亞洲人的休士頓火箭「哈佛小子」林書豪當然也知道這個消息，14日的返台記者會上就談到了這件事。

「我要恭喜中華隊，我沒有看直播，但我有看網路上的Highlight。」林書豪說：「雖然我認識的Jet（張宗憲）、James（毛加恩）都沒有打，但我真的很恭喜中華隊。」

先前林書豪曾透露，如果中華隊闖進世錦賽（現改為世界盃），他考慮回台灣替國家隊效力，這次中華隊距離世界舞台只有1個名次的差距，被問到未來有沒有合作意願，他使出NBA等級的「四兩撥千金」絕活，答案只能待下回分解。

「現在不是時候，如果未來有機會的話，我們再來面對這個問題。」林書豪說。
