智慧型手機有作業系統與內部的APP，所以實際可以使用的儲存量通常會比標示還少，三大品牌七款手機比較以後發現，蘋果的iPhone表現最好，可以使用的空間大約佔標示容量的七成五到七成八； hTC Desire 816最差，標示8GB可以使用的空間只有3.52GB，大約是標示容量的四成四。

很多使用者說，這些本來有的軟體無法度刪除很佔空間。專家說，應至少有八成可以使用較合理，NCC說，手機出廠會放入很多不能刪除的APP，是目前既定的事實，是不是要強制業者不能這樣做，還需要先了解其他國家的規定再討論。
