日本24歲網球王子錦織圭，在美國網球公開賽男單8強中，歷經4小時又15分鐘的五盤大戰後，以3比6、7比5、7比6(7)、6比7(5)和6比4打敗世界第4今年澳網新科冠軍瑞士球員瓦林卡(S.Wawrinka)，成為自1918年以來首位打進美網男單4強的日本球員，同時，也是自1968年公開賽時代以來，首位打進大滿貫賽男單4強的亞洲球員。(詹健全／綜合報導)
