侯友宜：朱立倫做了最好的決定

曾被視為新北市長朱立倫接班熱門人選的新北市副市長侯友宜，對於朱終於宣佈爭取連任，侯友宜說：「為了新北市民，市長做了最好的決定。」

朱立倫先是一早8點在臉書PO文宣佈爭取連任，而後主持市政會議後，向市府團隊宣佈他爭取連任的消息，並希望市府團隊與他一起打拚，把市政工作愈做愈好，因為經過這三年半的努力，「已成為共榮共辱的團隊」。

會後，朱立倫被大批媒體團團圍住，原本坐在朱立倫旁的侯友宜則以「趕行程」為由，趁亂加快腳離開現場，但在電梯口還是被媒體「堵到」；對於朱宣佈爭取連任，侯友宜表示，一定全力支持。
